Not only is Britney getting her life back on track, she’s back in the studio kicking some ass too. Brit is teaming up with J.R. Rotem and Sean Garrett for her upcoming album and they says things are “really shaping up.”
Britney Spears is set to make a spectacular comeback with live shows in Las Vegas, according to reports from the US.
The National Enquirer claims the troubled popster will be paid $10 Million for a residency at the Palms Hotel and Casino.
The rumours stem from Spears’ friendship with George Maloof Jr- owner of the resort- who she was spotted having dinner with this week.
A source said: “She wants to make a splashy comeback in Las Vegas. She wants the show to be full of high energy and flashy costume changes.”
In separate Britney news her dad Jamie has quit his catering job to manage her finances.

Spears ‘was in a total meltdown’

If possible, the Britney Spears meltdown saga became even more bizarre late Thursday as a confrontation over custody of the entertainer’s children quickly turned into a police and emergency medical team action and leading to Spears being transported to a Los Angeles hospital where she was designated a ”special needs” patient early today.

The singer’s ex-husband Kevin Federline and his attorney are in court today to discuss terminating Spears’ custody right after Thursday night’s incident.

A source inside Spears’ Studio City, Calif., home Thursday night, who requested not to be identified, told the Sun-Times the singer ”was in a total meltdown,” shortly after a bodyguard for Federline arrived around 8 p.m. Thursday to pick up Spears’ two sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. It was the previously arranged time for the boys to be retrieved from their mother’s house and driven to Federline’s home in nearby Tarzana.

According to the source, Spears ”had been drinking, which wasn’t a good idea since she was on [prescription] medications. … As soon as Kevin’s guy got to the house she started screaming, then ran to her bedroom and locked and bolted the door.”

”It’s not just the drugs and booze, though … I really believe she is having a total mental and emotional breakdown,” the source said.

Given Spears’ behavior over the past year, that analysis seems correct. There were the failed attempts at rehab, the now-infamous shaved-head incident, her love-hate relationship with the paparazzi, her embarrassing performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards in September 2007 and her meltdown afterward, and her attempts to have her children’s teeth whitened — all indications of unstable behavior.

When Spears barricaded herself in her bedroom Thursday night, she took her younger son, Jayden into the bedroom with her, “and he started screaming … and continued crying for just about the whole time she was in there. She did nothing to calm him down,” said the Spears’ staffer.

After Federline’s bodyguard realized Spears would not willingly turn over her children, he called the Los Angeles Police Department. Once they arrived and met with the singer, a police spokesman said it appeared Spears was clearly under the influence of a substance, which lead them to call the paramedics.

Under the glare of paparazzi cameras and news helicopters flying overhead, Spears was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Her son Jayden also was taken to the hospital, but was released into Federline’s custody in the early hours this morning once doctors determined he was unharmed. Both children are now in Federline’s custody.

Spears is now under constant observation, which is usually reserved for people who have overdosed on drugs or considered a suicide risk, at the L.A. hospital. As of midday today, Spears remains in ”medical hold” and under observation for a minimum of 72 hours, according to LAPD spokesman Jason Lee.

After Spears was taken to Cedars-Sinai, Federline, her father Jamie Spears, her frequent companion Sam Lufti and her pregnant 16-year-old sister Jamie Lynn Spears, all rushed to the hospital.

According to the Spears household source, the entertainer’s mother and on-and-off manager Lynne Spears ”was hysterical about all this,” claiming the singer’s children will now be taken from her permanently, ”and they should,” the source quoted Lynne Spears as saying.
